prb Info & News

About prb

prb, or the passenger rail blog, is your source for all news and stories relating to all aspects of passenger rail, here in the US and, to a lesser extent, abroad. We report on all Amtrak news, stories of mass transit from around the country, high-speed rail development, as well as airlines and highways as they relate to the passenger rail struggle. We are dedicated to the idea that the expansion and use of all forms of passenger rail, whether it be long-distance, high-speed, corridor, mass transit, light rail, or otherwise, makes the most sense. Passenger rail can move the most people more efficiently than highways and (along short-distance corridors, at least) airlines as well. Do you agree with our view? Then get involved!

Interested in learning more about the struggle of rail travel in this country? Check out our Passenger Rail Advocacy page for more information, facts and statistics about how rail transportation has never really been given a chance, and why now is the time for large investment. Also, consider supporting the National Association of Railroad Passengers, a lobbying group dedicated to the advancement of rail transportation, whether it be Amtrak or otherwise.

prb is a proud production of thebriz.com. Which does not currently exist, actually, but it's the brand name that I like to use. So, there. prb runs on a custom blogging platform that is built off of the standards offered by Blogsmith, Wordpress, and others. Suggestions on way the site or blogging platform could be improved? Feel free to drop me a line!

July 15, 2008. Welcome to my new blog! It's the passenger rail blog, or more simply known as prb. In here, I hope to report on news that most passenger rail enthusiasts will find interesting, as well as advance the cause for better passenger rail service in the US as much as I can. For the time being, welcome! The site is currently, and will probably always be, under various stages of construction. Hopefully everything works as it should at the moment; feel free to drop us a line if you find anything that doesn't work. In the near future, I'm already planning some additional features, such as the ability to leave comments on stories. That'll be a great tool, so, look forward to it!
